Plans are underway for two additional branches in Solwezi and Kasumbalesa, creating a network of branches to keep our customers’ businesses and vehicles moving.
We are often asked why our company is named Lualua.
Lualua is the name of a small stream that forms one of the boundaries of our grandfather’s farm in Kasama, Northern Zambia.
Whilst researching the name Lualua we came across an elderly man from Kasama who said “a long time ago a type of frog (luo) lived in the short grass (luani) by the stream. Local people used to call the area luani lwa luo which means grass of frogs. This was shortened to lualuo, which sounds like lualua when said quickly – and hence the river name stuck.”
